Louisa County Highschool's future graduating class of 2014 has an opportunity that will not only set them apart from any other graduating class at LCH, but that will prove them to be the excellent students that they are. With willingness of 8 students, the high school concluded, in agreement with a Virginia community college, to present any participating students with a high school diploma as well as an associates degree in general studies. If these 8 students choose to put in the effort their senior year at LCH, they could potentially end up with 61 transferable college credits.
Lynchburg man faces 20 child porn charges
Chad William Jarrett of Lynchburg, Virginia was arrested on August 12 after the police realized that he had given emergency personal falsified information. At the time of this arrest, Jarrett was currently on probation for a former arrest concerning possession of child pornography. After the police had taken him into custody, they shortly uncovered that Jarrett had more child pornography on multiple electronic devices.
Bedford authorities still investigating assault report that prompted lockdown
It was reported on Tuesday that a High School student was attacked with a weapon in the Bedford area. As a direct result of this assault, all of the schools in the Forest area were forced on lockdown from around 9:45am till 12:00pm as a precaution for while the suspect was still on the loose. According to the Captain of the sheriffs office, this situation was one that was new and unfamiliar to the town.
