Ad breakdown

http://adflip.com/addetails.php?adID=13621&showLargeJpg=yes

Name: Got Milk?
Advertisement: Milk

1. What is the promise of benefit offered by this headline?
Answer: This particular add kind of makes you feel like if you drink milk like the model shown on the ad, you will look good like she will. It even says, "Model behavior". It is a play on words because what it could mean is one of two things. First, it could mean that that is the type of behavior that you want to model and copy. Or, it could mean that drinking milk is the kind of behavior that the cover model is displaying.

2. How does the illustration demonstrate the product? How does this illustration attract attention?
Answer: The illustration demonstrates the product in a number of ways. Not only is the girl holding the glass of milk, but it shows that she has already started drinking it because she has a milk mustache, something that is common when people drink milk. I think one of the main reasons the ad draws attention is because it features an attractive girl. Usually this type of method is successful because apparently and unfortunately... sex sells.

3. What proofs of the promise of benefit in the headline are offered by the body copy?
Answer: The body copy on this particular ad back up the promise of benefit by mentioning how milk will always be "in fashion". Mentioning fashion relates well with the fact that there is a fashionably dressed and attractive model on the ad. If we drink the milk, we will be pretty, good looking, and have better bones... especially after the age of 35 because that is when our bones stop growing.

4. What action does this ad tell readers to take?
Answer: It tells its readers to drink milk. It's as simple as that. They want us to buy milk because it gives us calcium that our bones need in order to stay strong. When our bones stop growing at the age of 35, we are more at risk for fractures and breaks without daily consumption of milk.
